Old school maps – windows into the past
With their detailed drawings and soft colors, old school maps brought the world into the classroom. Whether it was a beech tree, a world map, or the human body – these artistically designed teaching aids tell not only about their subject but also about a time when learning was still on the wall.
The maps by W. Bakker & H. Rusch for Uitgeverij Dijkstra date from the first half of the 20th century, particularly from around 1938 and continuing into the 1960s.
These beautiful, unique school posters may show signs of wear and tear. We strive to capture these as accurately as possible in our photos.
